Fire Extinguishers – Removing the Pin will make the Extinguisher VOID

Having fire extinguishers held through a business premise or corporate place is required by law. Under the fire safety act of 1978, all places that see a large footprint of activity by law has to have a fire extinguisher. This has also been heightened with the number of accidents and fires caused in public schools and public places.

However, what do you do when a fire extinguish has had the pin pulled from it? Well unfortunately it’s bad news and you will have to replace it. These typically cost in the region of £100 – £200 depending on the type of model and size of the extinguisher. The difficulty is however, is maybe not with the cost of these pieces of equipment, but the fact that if you are the owner of a school or college, then kids typically play with these and void an extinguisher which wouldn’t pass health and safety laws.
